Cyprus Golf & Marinas
Cyprus has the advantage of a perfect climate for playing golf. With its
current 3 courses and plans for 11 new golf courses in Cyprus covering all
areas of the island (final licenses for these should be granted this year),
it is the perfect place to own a property as a permanent or holiday home.
The current golf courses in Cyprus are:
Secret Valley Golf & Country Club
Surely the crowning glory when it comes to Cyprus Golf, Secret Valley is located 18km east
of Paphos, near Petra tou Romiou,
the legendary birthplace of the goddess of love, Aphrodite. This wonderful location brings the pleasures of peace and tranquility, whilst the dry and pleasant climate permits golfing to be enjoyed all year round.
Tsada Golf and Country Club
Tsada Golf Course, founded in 1994 and located 550 metres above sea level in the hills of Tsada, the golf course enjoys
cooling breezes throughout the hot summer months.
Set in the grounds of a 12th century monastery in a gentle valley created by
Donald Steel, it plays to a par 72 and measures 6,060 metres. The club also
offers an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court. The clubhouse includes a
bar, restaurant, shop with golf accessories and a golf academy with driving
range, putting green, changing rooms and showers.
Aphrodite Hills Golf Club
Founded in 1994, Aphrodite Hills Golf Club is easily accessible, located just 20km east of
Paphos only two minutes off the Paphos-Limassol motorway.
Spectacularly situated on two plateaux at an altitude of 300 metres above sea
level, the course provides marvellous Mediterranean Sea views. The 6,269 metre course
designed by Cabell B. Robinson plays to par 71/70. It offers a double-ended
350 metre practice range, 4 target greens with bunkers, short game practice
facilities and 3 academy holes. There are two resident professional golf
instructors, an inviting clubhouse with bar and restaurant facilities,
terraces overlooking the 18th green and a Pro-shop offering the latest golf
apparel and equipment. Cyprus Golf at it's best.
Marinas
There are many small ports, marinas, yacht harbours and fishing shelters
along the coast of Cyprus and many offer long term berths.
St Raphael Resort and Marina
The marina and hotel are near the port town of Limassol. The marina has 237
berths accommodating boats up to 30 metre LOA and 4 metre draught. Berthing
includes access to the resort facilities. It is a luxury resort and marina
with all of the facilities one would expect. Berths can be reserved by the
day, week or month.
Larnaca Marina
The Marina, an official Port of Entry, has berthing facilities for 450
yachts of various sizes; there are plans underway to extend this to
1,000.The Marina is entirely protected from all weather conditions. Access
to the Marina is controlled and limited to yacht owners and crews. The
Marina has security guards on a 24hour basis. All yachts moored in the
Marina may use all facilities available, at a reasonable charge.
Latchi Marina
 |
The recent extension of the fishing harbour has provided additional berths; here you can dock your yacht on the doorstep of the waterside restaurants and cafes.
Take the coastal paved walk and enjoy the wide variety of amenities that Latchi Harbour has to offer. |
New Marinas
Four new marinas are planned on different parts of Cyprus, see below:
The Paphos Marina will have a capacity of 1,000 vessels.
The Limassol Marina will be built to the west of the old port and will also
have a capacity of 1,000 vessels.
The Ayia Napa Marina will have a capacity of 600 vessels.
The Paralimni Marina will have a capacity of 250 vessels.
The marinas of Cyprus are expected to have a comparative advantage over
those of Greece, Turkey and Israel, due to the island’s geographic position.
